Elzhi "The Preface"

1st and foremost people, Hip Hop Is Not Dead.

I don't know what it is about Midwest Hip hop or the area in general, but people over there just live and breathe music and soul.

I picked up Elzhi's debut solo album "The Preface" about two weeks ago, and it remains one of my favorites of the year and possibly decade. Elzhi, if some don't know, is 1/2 of the legendary Detroit Group, Slum Village. Elzhi is just a beast on the mic and Black Milk's production is like Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek of the 90's or Guru and DJ Premier, unstoppable. Elzhi shows that lyricism is not dead within hip hop, it is just on an extended leave.

This album is a primary source that Hip Hop Is Not Dead and that Nas should be bitch slapped for saying that and putting out a wack album after that.

My Favorites on the album include:
Motown 25 f/ Royce Da 5'9"
Colors
D.E.M.O.N.S.
Yeah f/ Phat Kat
Talking in my sleep ( when listening to this, it actually feels like you're dreaming)
Hands Up

GO get this album and support good hip hop like this.
