May 28th Flow

May 28th
Bout to drop a flow to keep ya safe
Da Drought is Over
Jolly Green Giant lookin for that clover
So Take Cover
I see Angels in my outfield like Glover
And I like the girls but hip hop is my lover
Some say she's dead, others say she's underfed
But I say I'm just trying to make my bread, Fuck what you said
Cuz A Man with a chain is a man without a brain
Know your history
And how I put words together in this mystery
Like Clancey
But I speak through beats like Mr. Yancey
Oops I mean DILLA
There's no one rilla
Who stomps through ya city like Godzilla

Indiana Jones 4!!

So I just saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I think it's a great movie for everyone. Even though Harrison Ford is no longer the age he used to be, his experience does not stop him from kicking ass. I'm not going to talk about the movie because you should see it for yourself and have a good time.

Indiana is still afraid of snakes!! Haha

Lakers Continue to Dominate!

So to all you Laker haters out there, Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals was a complete failure for the Spurs. Lakers destroyed the Spurs by 30 pts. 101-71 and are looking to clinch this series in 4 to move onto the Finals.

May 21st. Rhymes

So it's Wednesday night with nothing to do, Lakers took Game 1 of the Western Finals
I'm listening to some hip hop on these old vinyls
From Pharcyde to Tribe to De La to Roots
All these different styles fill my boots
The DJ scratches the record and everybody goes crazy
It's a school night but I still feel kinda Lazy
Class is almost over
And summer got me huntin' for that green like a clover
But this my field
Of dreams that is
That fill my mind with schemes that is
Good for those who are willing to listen
I'm just a simple man who was made for this mission
To bring you the real deal like my name was Evander Holyfield
Because I'm so holy in this field of rhyming and timing in this world
of constant Up and Down sizing
It feels so natural like in my sleep
Catching all these ZZZ's
and how I put words together with such ease
These are just some rhymes for May 21st.
And remember when it comes through me it always quenches your thirst

Junior African American Day at USC

Yeah, so I just got back home from USC. I went there today to take part in their first annual African American Junior Day which serves the purpose of informing LA African American juniors of what takes place at USC and what to look forward to. Although SC is not my first choice, today was very helpful that helped to change my mind just a little bit.

Wax tears it up with another dope freestyle. This time over the Cool Kids' "I Rock" beat.

Lakers Move On Up!

So Last night, the Lakers finally defeated the Jazz 108-105 which put them in the Western Conference Finals. The game overall was very interesting. Lakers never gave up their 10-13 pt lead on the Jazz. In the final few seconds of the game, the Jazz tried to make a good comeback, but failed pushing the Lakers to the Western Finals.

Lakers, What Happened???

So today, the Lakers played the Utah Jazz in Game 4 of the West Coast Semifinals hoping to clinch a 3-1 lead over the Jazz. The First half was mediocre basketball for our Lakers due to Kobe's back injury, Fisher's foul trouble early on, the Jazz's unstoppable scoring and motivation.

Ronny Turiaf got ejected for lightly pushing Ronnie Price. WTF

All in all, the Lakers tied with the Jazz at the end of regulation, putting the game into OT. The Lakers' last efforts were just not enough to stop the Jazz from tying the series up 2-2. Hopefully, Kobe and the Lakers will be able to rethink so that they can retake the series from these Jazz losers!!!!

"I Can Ride My Bike With No Handlebars"

"Handlebars" by Flobots is probably the most controversial song out to date. Disputes among music listeners concerning the song's subject matter and over-simplicity have many calling the song "genius" and others calling it "stupid". Personally, I really like the song and official video/fan made videos. Its simple melody and lyrics about riding a bike, keeping time with no metronome, and leading the world into a holocaust are more than what you hear on the radio. So, whether you like this song or not, I believe in the cliche', "You should never judge a book by its cover".

OBAMA 08'

Well if you're following the presidential race or not, the fight between Obama and Hilary never seems to stop. Most people say that America is not ready for a black or female president, but I believe the time is now to "Change". Personally, I can never see Hilary as president. Obama, on the other hand, never fails to impress me. Any presidential candidate who can brush the "dirt" of his or her shoulders and appeal to young people through hip hop is good in my book. So if you're 18 and older by election time, go vote OBAMA.

Rising Down

Yeah, I know my review is late, but whatever whatever!!

So, the Legendary Roots Crew dropped their 10th album (Rising Down) last week, and I think it's one of their best yet. Black Thought's rhymes remain on point as always, ?uestlove's musical genius continues to amaze, and The Roots as a whole never fail to impress. Collaborating w/ other dope MC's like Mos Def, Styles P, Saigon, Common, Talib Kweli, and the usual Dice Raw, Rising Down is in a class out its own with its unique sound.

So far, The Roots have dropped four videos for the album, including the cool collaboration with Patrick Stump known as "Birthday Girl". Getting this album is a must whether you like hip hop or not.

Big Brother

Tomorrow

I have Big Brother training to prepare Loyola's incoming freshmen for high school life and tradition. Not looking forward to 3 hours at school on Saturday, but it should be cool otherwise.
